Veterans' Dependents

You have potential entitlement to benefits under a program known as the College Fee Waiver Program for Veterans' Dependents, if:

  1.  You are the spouse, surviving spouse, son, or daughter of a veteran who is rated 100 percent service-connected disabling by the Veterans Administration (VA), or a veteran who died from service-related causes.
  2.  You are the son or daughter of a veteran with a VA service-connected disability rating, or a veteran who had a VA service-connected disability rating at the time of death.

Foster Care Youth Waiver

Most foster youth may have most of their financial needs met for college through the Middle Class Scholarship (MCS), and the Foster Youth Student Success Completion Grant.

Los Rios Promise Program 

The Los Rios Promise Program covers the cost of tuition for eligible students. You may also hear it referred to as California Promise or AB-19 (Assembly Bill 19) and AB-2 (Assembly Bill 2).

You are only eligible for the Los Rios Promise Program for two consecutive award years beginning with your initial enrollment in the summer/fall term. If your first enrollment is the spring term, then you are only eligible for 1.5 years (not the full two years), provided that you meet the enrollment and FAFSA completion deadline.
